Our vulture friends have returned to remind us who apparently runs the place.
After our cleaning crew did a fantastic job cleaning the jetty, and our maintenance team cleaned and repaired the Beacon tower and light, the vultures wasted very little time making themselves comfortable again.
As a temporary deterrent, we are placing the bird cannon near the entrance to the jetty. It may operate periodically between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM only and will be monitored while in use. It will not operate after 5:00 PM.
We realize the sound may catch you by surprise, so we wanted everyone to know what it is and why it is there. This is a temporary measure while we continue evaluating other options and obtain the necessary guidance and approvals for a longer-term solution.
Thank you for your patience while we work on convincing our persistent feathered visitors that the Beacon Hill jetty is not their private clubhouse.
