Summer Season 2024 Kicks Off – Community Updates and Announcements

As the 2024 Summer Season is well underway we wanted to update you on the status of our amenities, ongoing repair or replacement items and some announcements worth mentioning:

Community Announcements

It is with great pleasure that we are proud to announce that 2 of our fulltime residents have joined the City of Kemp in an official capacity.

We are proud to announce that Joyce Stempak (lot 60) had joined The City of Kemp EDC, (Economic Development Corporation) as a Board Member earlier this year and more recently we are also delighted to announce that Nicole Long (lot 19) has joined Kemp City Council.

I know we all offer our sincerest congratulations for 2 members of our Beacon Hill Community who have dedicated their time and attention to work to improve our City and help us continue to grow in a positive way.

Jetty Repairs

As we have all been delighted with the look of the new Vinyl Jetty panels on the inside of both Jetty’s and the waterside of the East Jetty, in response to the extreme weather scenarios we experienced this season, we have decided to use galvanized steel on the waterside of the West Jetty versus the vinyl which did not yield the desired result. The contractor has installed the first 100 steel panels near the West jetty entrance and will be continuing as more panels arrive in the next few weeks.

Retaining Wall Repairs

Our retaining wall contractor has received approval from The Water Board (TRWD) to commence repairs and replacement of the panels for the more severe areas behind lot 21 and 39 first and then focus on the other areas based on damage assessments. This is an ongoing project which will be continuing for quite sometime so we appreciate your continued patience, especially those who own or reside on waterfront homesites.

Pickleball Court

We have replaced the Court Fencing with stronger, concrete reinforced posts that should fair much better when the extreme winds return. We have a new contractor in place to strip the court surface and repaint and stripe as soon as conditions permit. We now have some gear for our use at the Pool Pavilion for those wishing to try this fun and challenging sport.

Pool

Kristian Hargrove has returned from Germany and will be the new pool attendant starting this weekend so we are delighted he has returned for a great summer season.

We have all the pool systems running perfectly and we will be adding some instruction plaques inside the Pavilion explaining how to properly operate the interior and exterior Audio Systems and the 4 individual TV Monitors.

July 4th Weekend

We have decided not to have our usual fireworks show this July 4th while the West Jetty is being repaired. A few of our boat owners have expressed an interest in leading a boat convoy at dusk to enjoy some great viewing locations along the lake for various fireworks displays. The airshow is also next Saturday and a few residents will be boating to that location as well so we hope those who have not experienced this will be able to come and enjoy.

More updates to follow.
